Geriatrics shortage

Money, as always, is the answer. Not only financial incentives for medical students to choose the field, but the resources for medical schools to institute geriatrics into the curriculum.

Geriatrics is the third most popular specialty in Britain, due in part to a reimbursement system that scales up compensation with the age of patients.

Massachusetts mistakenly thinks that simply expanding medical school class sizes will solve the problem. They’re going to be sorely disappointment when these extra medical students choose radiology or dermatology instead.
