Former Intel CEO Andy Grove gives it a try. Like many economists and policy wonks, technology mavens are trying to fix something they are completely over their heads in. Try doing a few shifts in the ER or spend a week shadowing a primary care physician before spouting off solutions. GruntDoc explains.

Everyone who thinks they have an answer to “fixing” the healthcare “system” haven’t a clue of how little they know. Even those of us in it just see a part of the elephant with at best only vague notions of how our ideas for improving the functioning of the part that we know will affect parts we never see.
It is why we should focus on values such as liberty, quality, competence, fair pricing, and charity in applying local specific solutions instead of seeking massive reform–that way we will do much less harm via all the unforseen consequences.
