Liudmila Schafer is a board-certified, award-winning medical oncologist, an associate professor of medicine, and author of The Other Side of Oncology. She is CEO, The Doctor Connect consultancy specializing in helping physicians to unlock their full potential for passion-driven business and media appearances utilizing credentials through “national impact strategy.” She can be reached on Twitter @MdLiudmila, Instagram @dr_liudmilas, Facebook, and YouTube.

Dr. Schafer is a Forbes council member, ABC15 contributor, podcast and TV host, TEDx speaker, and a certified teacher-scholar in cancer education. She created the concept of “organic bravery” to help individuals train their minds and bodies for better decision-making in unexpected situations.

For 30 years, Dr. Schafer has passionately pursued progress in her field as a female oncologist and clinical researcher. She has mentored medical trainees and health care professionals while establishing a hematology/oncology education curriculum for physicians. Her extensive experience includes serving on national and international committees, acting as principal investigator for clinical trials, and earning certification in translational research.

In August 2021, Dr. Schafer’s father passed away during COVID. After returning to work, she felt inspired to broaden her impact beyond individual patient care. Transitioning from academic institutions and being a physician, she became a business and media strategist after 26 years in medicine.

Her ultimate goal is to help fellow physicians unlock their full potential by combining their existing credentials with their passions. Dr. Schafer has been published in peer-reviewed journals and featured on various regional and national media outlets, including Bloomberg, Forbes.com, News Ticker, Yahoo Life, The List, BestLife, Eat This Not That, BLOOM, Authority Magazine, Thrive Global, Health News You Can Use, FOX4, KMBC, Research to Practice, Verywell Health, Giddy, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology, among others.

Dr. Schafer is committed to ending “labeling” and promoting equality in her field.
