Barbara is a graduate of Emory University and Regis University and began her career as a perinatal nurse. She completed the Institute for Safe Medication Practice’s one-year Safe Medication Management Fellowship in 2008.
Before joining The Just Culture Company in 2019, Barbara held patient safety and clinical quality leadership positions in large, multi-state health care systems. She completed AHA-NPSF’s Comprehensive Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship in 2011-2012. Barbara currently serves on the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety Executive Oversight Committee and has held certification as a Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) since 2012. She has been a TeamSTEPPS master trainer since 2012.
