Happy 1st year!

My humble medical blog is 1-year old today. What started out as an experiment has turned into a rewarding (and a bit time consuming) hobby. I’ve never thought there were that many people interested in what I had to say.

The blog has come a long way since the inaugural post. A lot of hot topics have been debated and discussed here: emergency room misuse, Vioxx and COX-2’s, the future of primary care, and of course, medical malpractice.

There have been some good cases as well, ranging from the person who eats a lot of ice to an unfortunate case of a brain tumor.

I’ve opined and discussed medical happenings in newsworthy people, like John Ritter’s aortic dissection to Tedy Bruschi’s stroke.

There has even been some publicity in the newspaper, magazine articles, and radio.

I want to give a shout of thanks to my fellow medbloggers who have linked to my stories, helping the blog grow. It is certainly fascinating to read stories, commentary, and opinion from other doc bloggers.

And finally, many thanks to all the readers who repeatedly come back and visit (yes, even the lawyers who keep the endless debate with physicians fresh and interesting). Here’s to another great year of “telling it like it is”.
