  1. Congressman to AMA: Offer SGR Solutions Not Complaints. The American Medical Association (AMA) is doing a disservice by not weighing in on how to pay for repealing the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula for physician reimbursement under Medicare.
  2. Lethal Injection: A Cruel, Painful, Terrifying Execution. Physicians should abstain from discussions on how to improve lethal injection, according to one clinician who has become an outspoken critic of the execution modality.
  3. Fall Risk Factors in RA Are Not Clear. The true rates of falls and potential fall risk factors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are uncertain due to the heterogeneity in the methodology of studies in which these endpoints have been examined.
  4. 1,700 Hospitals Win Quality Bonuses From Medicare. Medicare is giving bonuses to a majority of hospitals that it graded on quality, but many of those rewards will be wiped out by penalties the government has issued for other shortcomings.
