  1. Possible Links Found Between Afib, Dementia. Heart rate and anticoagulation control may contribute to the relationship between atrial fibrillation and dementia.
  2. Excess Weight Weighs Heavily in Early RA Tx. Patients diagnosed with early rheumatoid arthritis who were overweight were less likely to achieve rapid disease control.
  3. FDA Slashes Starting Dose for Lunesta. Patients starting on the sleep drug eszopiclone (Lunesta) should take no more than 1 mg at bedtime — one-third the current label-recommended dose — because of the risk of next-day impairment.
  4. MERS Watch: Netherlands Reports Two Cases. The Netherlands is reporting two cases of the Middle East coronavirus (MERS) while hard-hit Saudi Arabia is reporting three new cases and three deaths.
