1. Seniors Get ‘Aggressive’ Care in Final Days. Although fewer Medicare patients died in acute care hospitals in 2009 than in 2000, the number of their trips to the intensive care unit and healthcare transfers increased near the end of life.

2. Mentally Ill Smoke 30% of All Cigarettes. Federal survey results indicate that smoking intensities as well as smoking rates are dramatically higher in the mentally ill compared with other Americans.

3. Is Pot Smoking a Stroke Trigger? Middle age stroke patients were 2.3 times more likely to be pot smokers than healthy middle age controls.
