1. GOP Tries Again on Medicare Overhaul. House Republican leaders introduced a budget proposal Tuesday that contained proposals for overhauling Medicare and Medicaid similar to those in last year’s failed bill.
2. Court: Cigarette Warning Rule Stands. A federal appeals court has upheld the FDA’s authority to regulate tobacco products, including a requirement that cigarette makers emblazon their products with graphic warning images.
3. Antiplatelet Tx Little Help in Kidney Patients. The use of antiplatelet therapy among patients with chronic kidney disease does not appear to improve cardiovascular outcomes and may worsen the likelihood of bleeding.
