Several patients have died. Most, but not all patients with a severe disease had some preexisting conditions. ARDS was the most common problem in the severely ill. What strikes me is how quick these patients developed lung injury and ARDS. Just a few hours after admitting these patients, I was maximizing the ventilatory settings and stating patients on Nitric Oxide.
