Sure its radiation and risk. But what if we miss that PE? And it is just sooo easy to get that test these days.Let's face it we do everything because we expect it, our patients now expect it and their attorneys expect it. Best of all it usually doesn't come out of our pockets. These days with lawsuits and all the hand wringing we do for any missed diagnosis, what is another 98 / 100 chest CT’s. Sure its radiation and risk. But what if we miss that PE? And it is just sooo easy to get that test these days.

Let’s face it we do everything because we expect it, our patients now expect it and their attorneys expect it. Best of all it usually doesn’t come out of our pockets.
