I don’t know of any studies yet, Mr. Gathright, but anecdotal evidence with my own family suggests this to be the case. Grandsons gave it to daughter and son-in-law, son-in-law’s sister and husband got it from their kids.

Has anyone said anything about infection rates among parents of H1N1 or swine flu victims?

The kid is more likely to get the virus from day care or school… and is more likely to give it to the PARENT than vice versa.

Shouldn’t they require parents to get the shot in case they bring the virus home?

I don’t know if the cuttpoint 25 yr is a good parameter to argue that vaccine is necessary, knowing that a major part of severe cases and deaths occurred (all over the world) in young adults. Maybe in the US the epidemy is a little different.

The daughter of a friend has asthma, and got H1N1 before the vax was available here. She now has pneumonia. It’s a nasty thing, and not to be messed with.
