"Does the president really mean 'may contribute'? Is there any doubt that defensive medicine is directly responsible for exploding costs from unnecessary tests that we physicians order to protect ourselves? The presidents language was too squishy and his lip service to tort reform was extremely disappointing. Personally, I don't think that his speech have changed the position of any of the chess pieces on the board.
