It’s safe to say that the former Oscar-winner has been somewhat floundering in his recent movie roles.
That said, his recent effort, Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, has the thumbs up of this anesthesiologist.
After losing faith of how anesthesiologists were portrayed, ranging from cheap horror movies to cowardly behavior in Grey’s Anatomy, she is impressed with how “they bothered to show a moment in which Dr. Carson checked in with the anesthesia team to verify the stability of his patients and also to show those team members hastily re-hanging various bags of fluid, manually stabilizing the endotracheal tubes, and doing other important ‘busy work’ as the separation of the twins was under way.”
Some nice props to a crucial player in every surgical procedure.

Can’t say I’ve really paid attention, but I didn’t know anesthesiology had a bad image in the movies, an image that needed rehabilitation.
His house looked like a mansion in the film. Not bad considering that he announced he was only 3 years out of residency in the previous scene.
