How doctors can stay on time when seeing patients

January 7, 2009

I see close to 30 patients a day and generally stay on time.

So yes, it’s possible. With customer service being an important component of patient satisfaction, it pays to stay on time. That’s literally true, as you can also see more patients in a day when you’re punctual.

Most patients do not like spending the day at a physician’s office, and are pleasantly surprised when doctors are respectful of their time.

Here is a collection of great tips that, along with The Efficient MD, provide common-sense advice for physicians who are habitually late.

As a patient I always show up 5 minutes early and appreciate it when my doctor is prompt. I also thank them for being on time.

Well, spanish MDs can see close to 45 patients a day. I even knew a turkish MD who sees aprox 100 patients every day (50 on the morning & 50 more on the afternoon) but she works 20 hours a day

I think you hit on the most important topic and that is that we Pt’s have a life too and out time is important too. We don not make the big dollars or have to make life altering decisions but our time is valuable to us just as the doctors is to them. I think it is just respect plain and simple. I understand if there is an emergency of course but I expect my doctor to be respectful and be on time just as I am respectful for showing up 20 minutes early to take care of paperwork so that I do not mess his/her schedule up.
