No Catron I GET your point. Apparently the absence of checks/balances is fine in your ideological eye as long as the republicans rule the roost (2001-2006). Even though the present day president/congressional republicans are in reality NOT fiscally conservative. Look at this present mess. Open your eyes.

But Catron, it works for them-they keep getting elected and get more and more power. They aren’t insane at all. It isn’t and hasn’t worked out well for us and STILL lots of docs are looking to the government for salvation. Whose sanity should be questioned?

Actually, ANON, you missed the point. I was alluding to the absence of any check (as in checks & balances)on their now unlimited power to do dumb things.

What's the definition of insanity? Trying the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

Baucus and hi accomplices are proving once again that they are utterly incapable of learning from experience.

I cannot believe the voters were dumb enough to give these people both houses of Congress and the Presidency.

HA! Sounds like a PCP Bailout! Lets get our $$ while the getting is good.

Not single payer? Really Kevin? This can go down one of two ways:
1) The "Massachusetts" Way: Everyone is insured, public or private, and No one can get care. Not Single-payer, but crap nonetheless
2) The "Hawaii" Way: Single Payer. Bankrupt. Nuff said.

Both plans get to the same endpoint quickly which is a lot of $ spent, and no one has access.

Any new government plan may or may not give financial breathing room to primary care, the only thing you can be absolutely certain is that the government will have more control over your practice when the dust settles. What is the dollar value of freedom?
