I have now been 8 months without a concrete diagnosis and have daily pain in the groin area. I have learned the most from an 80+ page forum at Letsrun.com that chronicles the many that have lived with this and for others, that have had some surgical procedure to correct it.<br/><br/>Right now, I am tired of battling with doctors' massive egos. I go to my PCP or the specialist I am referred to, present them with TONS of researched information and they spurn me for being an educated patient. I have even given them medical journal articles on the latest imaging diagnostic techniques that are able to readily see these 'occult' hernias and they look at me with distaste. Where are the doctors that LIKE educated patients? Where are the doctors that APPRECIATE patients who are vigilant and proactive when it comes to their health? Hey, I know they are the experts, that's why I go see them; but damn, I don't have to be an ignoramus when it comes to a medical condition I potentially may be suffering from. For once, just ONCE, I would like to hear: Impressive...you seem to have researched the medical condition that you think may be afflicting you and have offered me information about the current tests that seem appropriate. Let's get those tests run and see what we find, shall we? So, where are THESE type of doctors?<br/><br/>As for the sports hernia, all of my research suggests that they are either occult hernias or muscle tears at the insertion point on the pubic joint. The problem is finding the specialists that know how to repair such things. There seem to be very, very few in this country.
