Keeping up

September 17, 2008

It never ceases to amaze me how spectacularly unprepared residents are for real-world medicine.

Most new doctors are naive to the business side of medicine, as well as the challenges that they will surely face: P4P, “never” events, and malpractice issues.

There’s more to practicing medicine than just knowing medicine.

WhiteCoat suggests reading medical blogs to keep up. I agree.
