Recertification hits the UK
They're considering a 5-year recertification cycle. That's pretty short, and will be met with resistance.
One thing I support is that they're going to test everyone. None of this "grandfathered" exemption nonsense that exists with the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Recertification for my specialty is much more than a competency exam. It is a broader behavioral control tool, and even a political control tool as they require membership in professional associations, regardless of whether you agree with their politics or ethics.
Post a CommentIt also costs much more than the original certification process--which is what it is really about I think. I was one of the last with life-time certification. I thought I would recertify anyway, until I saw what it was about and how much it would cost.
It is bullshit.
