Kevin: Don’t succumb to the tyranny! Our local BC/BS offered free e-prescribing to selected docs, not telling them that every Rx for every chronic med must be re e-prescribed every three months. (Monthly for PPIs.) The nuisance factor of e-prescribing equals that of the fax.

The truism that he who pays the piper calls the tune become clearer and clearer everyday for the fools who have long denied it. The tyranny of the government over the day to day details was inevitable the day we took the King’s shilling. It is only the time course of implementation that was ever in doubt. Much much more is to to come. The doctor-patient relationship, patient privacy, and patient autonomy are dead, dead, dead for those who depend on third party payment.
