Bugger

The ER called me a few months ago with the same problem and I loved my response. “Well, not that I get all of my medical knowledge from The Learning Channel, but I was watching Trauma in the ER the other night and a lady presented with a cockroach in her ear. They used lidocaine to fill the ear, stunning the bug and then removed it.” The ER doc tried it and it worked like a charm. I later found a few articles on pubmed from Australia, where they evidently have an epidemic of things stuck in peoples ears and took the articles down to the doc for information for the next time.
