Failing to provide futile care

It sometimes means accepting the risk of being sued. #1 Dinosaur says to deal with it.

Comments:
I do not understand the jealousy that exists towards doctors who make a comfortable living after spending half of there lives in school to learn how to save lives resulting in real sacrifices like delaying families etc...., working 60 to 80 hours per week.
It is a documented fact (just look at the AMA web page) that it is the minority of Medical specialties physicins who makes what one could characterize a Lot of money; the majority of the doctors does not!! eg. Paediatrician, internist, family doctors, psychiatrist/neurologist etc... They also generate huge student loan debts which require payments.

Lawyers, however do prey on gullible shortsighted people like you by manipulating your emotions so that your opinion is nothing more than: "Politics of Envy".
It is a fallacy to believe that
Doctors are prepared to be subjected to traumatic psychological emotional pain when they have been victimized by a lawsuit. (often frivolous)
Doctor earns their income for the most part honestly! And the countless regulatory bodies created by polilticians and consumer group rightfully exists to minimize fraud.
Lawyer rarely if not never subjected to this scrutiny. They have to infiltrate the hall of power (Senate, Governorship, congress presidency etc…. and manipulate society (via going to politics etc....) using the politic of envy and entitlement card to justify malpractice abuses against doctors. (and other litiginous claims toward other industries (But never of course malpractice toward lawyers…)

For the honest people who are jealous about doctor’s income, then I suggest you either work hard and go to medical school or contact your local representative! But that would be too much of an honest thing to do!

And again lets keep the malpractice racket going after all, it is too good of a game, Doctors pay huge malpractice moneys premium (they are rich of course! And their pocket are limitless paying the malpractice insurance premium, and then the lawyer fight for the $$$$ telling patients they are entitled to huge payments, lawyers, billing for their time without accountability, and plaintiff lawyers, keeping 1/3 of the "tax free" awards.
Most malpractice cases where the doctor is at fault are settled out of court. That tells you a lot of the judicial system. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Oh yeah” a few time the greedy Verminous lawyer states “We Care and feel S00000$o$o$o$ sooory$$$$……. for you predicament !” and makes sure to bill for their time making these heart wrenching statements!!!!! (300 to 900 $ an hour) (Three years of schooling after college!not bad. )

Oh! I forgot they can also spell really expensive intimidating and impressive words like:: Aforementioned….., Henceforth……, I command You…….. and other very expensive words printed on bond paper!!!!!!
