Of course that isn’t the case. I think he means net. Actually I think most net a little better than that–but that means that gross charges are going to have to average around 200 an hour. Considering all of the forced discounts to medicare, etc, those of us who pay for our care need to expect to pay around 300-400 for an hour of a generalists time. But if everyone paid the same rate and paid 100% of the time–like most services–we would pay about 200-250 per hour (100-125 for a half hour visit and 60 for a brief 10-15 minute visit)—which is quite reasonable for a professionals time.
