With the requisite disclaimer that most nurses are amazing and do the work of the hospital let me say that I just got done with a rotation at the VA. Let me stop laughing at that tagline before I comment more.

I guess thats true, except for the nurses that are more concerned with their union mandated breaks, the DON’s (a nurse, too) insistence on silly bureaucratic forms-filling, and not working overtime.

Reminds me of my favorite medical aphorism:
“Surgeons save lives, internists save articles.”

Those articles come in handy when the surgeons ask us to fix their pts.

Some we have to get ready for the OR – other we have to help recover from the experience!
