Did political connections get this medical student admitted?

Roy Poses sheds light on a case where a student's political ties may have got him accepted at the University of Florida's medical school:
In particular, it appears that at least one admission decision may have been affected by politics rather than students' credentials, and faculty are afraid to criticize it. The integrity of the admissions process is fundamental to the integrity of the medical school. Suppression of dissent clashes with the academic ideal of free inquiry.

I do remember two MD medical school deans admit that money would get you in......all other factors being equal, and one has a fifty grand donation, the other doesn't.

That was in the early 1970's.

    Nothing has changed........

    Disgusting.
The Republican Party myth of pulling yourself up by your boot straps and America as the land of opportunity where anyone can succeed.
The Republican Party is the party of back scratching, patronage and the rich helping the rich stay rich.

The foregoing was a paid political announcement.

"I'm Hillary Clinton, and I REALLY approved that message!"

Interesting how you equate one person with 50 percent on the entire country. Do you also have a strong racial prejudices where you judge millions of people by the actions of one?
