Spygate and plastic surgery

A bizarre case of subterfuge in Toronto:

Three of the largest professional organizations representing plastic surgeons in Canada are filing formal complaints against a Toronto physician who hired a private investigator to spy on a colleague whom she suspected was causing a drop in her business.

I am all for private practice in Canada, but where the heck were the provincial authorities in enforcing basic public health safety regulations?

Where was the coroner and the forensic autopsy report? Don’t the police in Toronto do any investigations?

Are there a wide variety of criminal violations here as well? And what kind of lawyer accepts such a bizarre case, one possibly based on criminal acts?
