The mother says:
We just noticed a tiredness within the past two weeks,” she said Wednesday. “And then, just the day before and that day (she died), it suddenly just went to a more serious situation. We stayed fast in prayer then. We believed that she would recover. We saw signs that to us, it looked like she was recovering.”
Opinions? I’ve heard at least one pediatric doctor argue quite vociferously about how tragically easy it is to mistake signs of diabetes/and or delay treatment for signs of it ( leading to the death of a boy from ketoacidosis).
If you’re going to die from DKA, no, it’s not easy to miss the symptoms. You have plenty of warning before then. You’re sick for awhile, and really, really sick by them. Kussmaul respirations are creepy to watch. It’s in the news because kids don’t die of DKA regularly. Their parents get them to the ER.
