yeah i hear that from the hospital all the time. if the hospital wants to pay the hospitalists to facilitate my discharges, that’s fine. otherwise, i have to see my emergencies, then my sickest, then discharge patients. if they want to hire a pa/np to help me discharge, that would be fine too. otherwise it is just another in a laundry list of suggestions from the hospital. how about listing some ways they can help me instead of interfere with my rounding?

The funny thing is that pts leave when their ride comes to pick them up – often in the evening.

A DC order does not translate into an empty bed.
