$75 is a bargain if it gets me some significant face time with an internist who doesn’t have to overbook with insurance assembly line “No shows.”

If this guy is good enough, it is worth every penny, and I will GLADLY pay!

Makes sense to me. I have to pay to hold a hotel room or a seat on an airline. If the doctor does this in lieu of overbooking, the end result will be better service. I would have no problem doing this at all either as a doctor or as a patient. If it enables the doc to better manage his schedule then I will benefit as a patient.
