I think that our medical system has some of the best AND some of the worst... co-existing together. We have the very best subspecialty care (substantiated, I think, by how many medical graduates come to the US for subspecialty training). We also have excellent primary care (in spots) and terrible primary care (in other spots). It all depends on how you measure quality, of course. My experience has been somewhat different. Why do Republicans get such dramatically better medical care than democrats?

I strongly suspect democrat party voters are more likely to be exclusively dependent on second rate and third rate government health coverage such as Medicare, VA, Medicaid, Indian Health Plan, etc.
