Agreed, it&#039;s looking at the problem back-ass backwards.  &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I want to also add stop relying on Health IT to save healthcare dollars.   In fact, it&#039;s my theory that HIT will furthur raise the costs of medical care in this country.  Here&#039;s how.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;HIT adds efficiency.  Which means instead of seeing 25 patients a day, I can now squeeze out an extra 2 or 3.  &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;So in the end, we&#039;ve accomplsihed very little.  &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;To lower cost of healthcare, we need to create an enviroment where doctor&#039;s can really &quot;see&quot; their doctors. Sit, talk, comb over their charts, review meds, spend time on preventative care.  It&#039;s an issue of time and cognitive effort.
