Force Hillobama to talk about costs

February 13, 2008

Talking about access is easy. Cost control is not, hence the lack of attention paid to it during this election cycle.

What? Where does talk of limits fit into a “bread and circuses” campaign?

Great post, and great link.

Americans, in general, want it all without concern for cost. Who can blame them, given that there has been a disconnect between the services provided and the cost for so many years.

Regardless of party affiliation, it’s political suicide to bring forth a “downer” like the cost of health care, especially when so many don’t have it.

Costs will be exorbitantly higher, unless the implementation requires tight, primary-care-based, utilization management. Not much different than what we do for managed care plans, but I think that the public needs to be aware.
