I see so many of these turf wars at work. Just a little while ago, I need a U/S guided thoracentesis on a patient. A pulmonary/critical care doc overheard that I was going to consult interventional radiology and quickly offered to help his services. He said he would get it done quicker than IR.

Pulmonary docs and U/S guided procedures? Go figure.
