I've had a lot of women patients in our group practice come to me hurt and angry because their expectation that woman doctor X or Y would be more caring and take more time was disappointed in the extreme. Coldness, preoccupation, judgmentalism, greed, inattention, narcissism ---all the things that make for poor doctor patient interactions are human qualities--not ethnic or gender qualities.
