As a fat person, I'm far more likely to exercise and eat right if I believe my body is worth taking care of. This movement -- I like the phrase "health at any size" -- emphasizes getting past the messages from family, society, and yes, doctors, that tell us we're bad and wrong and ugly, that we're not entitled to the same care as thin people.

This isn’t as counter-intuitive as you might think. Anorexic (http://community.livejournal.com/proanorexia) no problem, there are people who are willing to tell you it's OK. All you have to do is ignore all rational and scientific evidences to the contrary and accept the feel good pablum of your new 'support' group. <br/>There are support groups for all vices: don't like minorities, google the KKK, worry about vaccines lots of nutters who will validate your worries.

You can find a support group for anything on the web.
