Obveously they didn’t bother to attempt anything realistic.
The sodalime containers on the anesthesia gas machine are empty; no carbon dioxide absorption can happen.
The single tube to the face mask is not part of any known breathing system; it takes two tubes and a Y junction to have one tube bringing fresh air, the other returning exhaled gases back to the anesthesia machine.
The way things are headed we will simply be taking a slug of whiskey and biting the bullet after the first of the year anyway…..
