It comes down to campaign contributions, where physicians are being out-donated 7.5 to 1 by lawyers.

Bad comparison Kevin. At least if you’re trying to argue that’s why physicians don’t have as much political muscle. Lawyers often donate for the purpose of their clients, not as much for themselves. And many of the biggest donors are lobbying firms.
Chamber of Commerce and business types donate far more than lawyers.
But here’s the thing, if Congress did listen to you, is there anything you’re asking for other than more money? Where’s your legislative lobbying arms that are putting proposals in front of legislatures? Other than tort reform, which is primarily financed by insurers, that is.
Oh, I don’t know. I’ve been asking for TEN YEARS for lawyers & government agencies to OBEY THE LAW and PLAY FAIR

“Lawyers often donate for the purpose of their clients, not as much for themselves.”
I cant believe you actually expect us to buy that load of bullshit.
Are you really that dumb? You think firms like Covington and Burling, the tobacco industry’s firm and who has a partner that heads “Common Good”, the health court group, gives just to help themselves? Why would they?
They give to help their clients, and to get access on behalf of their clients.
Think a little.
