What a great metaphor! Unfortunately, the people who really need to absorb its basic message are as impervious to analogy as they are to objective data.

What a terrible metaphor! I saved my longer comment (not long enough, I know) for the post you linked, but I had to speak up for those who tend to believe that people behave differently with healthcare than with, say, hats. Or candy bars. Or pumpkins. Or whatever silly, over-simplified argument they care to make.
