Miserable beasts. I had one that had almost gone into the bone.
I described the pain as a hot poker being pushed through the nail.
I was glad when the hand surgeon told me it wasn’t my imagination!
I’ve just had one removed from the bone in my thumb.Suffered for 4 years. I thought it was gout. GP kept giving me steroid injections.I could have easily chopped my thumb off myself. Can only describe it as a burning, excrutiating pain. Thumb was so tender I could not run it under water.
