Either it has a sound basis in that Phillipino doctors are less competent and/or ethical on average than American trained doctors or is has no sound basis. In the first case it is irrational to be offended by the truth (but not uncommon). Even if sucessful in bullying everyone into not saying it out loud, they will still believe what their own eyes tell them.<br/><br/>The rational thing to do would be to, at least, raise oneself above that level by day to day excellence.<br/><br/>If it isn't true, then it is just a prejudice, and to hush it by getting offended will only convince people of it's truth, when you could just, once again, show them that it isn't true by day to day excellence.<br/><br/>In my career, both patients and doctors are accepting of doctors of all nationalities who are performers.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, the handful of Phillipino doctors that I have known were also the most irresponsible, sloppy, and unethical doctors that I have known. I am however, in the best American traditions of open-mindedness, confident that someone will break that losing streak any day now. Why be offended.
