Now that the transaction is electronic, there's an electronic trail that can be traced to the culprit and the culprit can be prosecuted using the evidence. You're right, we "know" a physicians hardwriting and we also know it stinks! Every year, poor (physician) handwriting leads to thousands of unnecessary patient deaths. It is hard to believe that folks feel this is still an issue worth debate.
