Hospitalists, officists, and recertification

Recertification exams are, on the face of it, a good idea. But the boards are making it way too expensive and way too complicated. It should be really simple. Confirm that you were previously certified, then go down to your Sylvan center and take the recertification exam on whatever Saturday is convenient for you. Shouldn’t cost more than 300 bucks.

But that would defeat the real purpose–money.
