They can take anything without any protest. ABIM is trying to impose impossible and ridiculous things on us at our cost. They are trying to create a whole big industry for recertification. All I can see is sadism on the part of ABIM. Practice improvement modules are a joke. This year the NY state medical society bragged about staving off a tax on in-office dermatologic procedures! all while letting net primary care income drop below that of electricians, plumbers, teachers, and nurses. Now they're frantically emailing about their needed PAC monies to prevent the annual threat of ritual CMS cuts to medicare.<br/><br/>primary care internists are only now realizing that we have NO effective politically active body representing our interests.
