Single-payer: "Time to be really scared"

Re Graham’s sympathy for waiting lists: He weighs them against ‘lack of care’. In the U.S. there are so many avenues for the uninsured, the poor, to get exceptional care, that ‘lack of care’ is basically meaningless. I’ve been very poor and without insurance, and better off with exceptional insurance. At no time when poor was I unable to find medical care for myself and my children, mostly free to me.

Those who favor socialized medicine and pooh-pooh the waiting lists take no account of the deaths that occur for lack of care in a timely manner, or that people suffer terribly without timely care.
