Maybe I mis-read it, but my quick scan of the article left me with the impression that most of the hospitalist programs THAT CALLED THE CONSULTANT’S OFFICE were in big trouble. That’s the consultant quoted in the article.
As opposed to times past, when most of the hospitalist programs that called in the past were start-ups.
The article is not saying that most hospitalist programs are in big trouble.
Certainly I agree, there are so many hospitalist and hospital variables, that you have to start watching out for troubled programs.
