Medicare makes their annual announcement of Medicare cuts in reimbursement. This year it’s almost 10 percent.
Typically, these cuts get stopped at the last minute. However, I predict this year they’ll only go half-way – perhaps reducing the cuts instead of eliminating them completely.

Every single year they do this. Geez, I’m getting sick of it.
this is a cheap way that cms & congress get to show that they’re trying to reign in healthcare costs, but still support doctors, and all the while shafting doctors of an increase in reimbursements while costs are skyrocketing.
that is why patients are pissed that their doc is spending like 5 mins with them after they’re in the waiting room for 2 hrs.
i don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to accept that doctors are entitled to annual raises just like everyone else.
I will be raising my fees by 3 percent next year to reflect the increased wages, rent, postage, and other costs I must bear. I Medicare does not increase reimbursement by this amount, I will have to cut back the Medicare component of my practice to compensate. Too bad I cannot balance bill as this cut would not be a problem for me or most of my patients. It is that simple.
