Millions of dollars each year are paid out by the government through Medicaid to individuals who truly are just stealing from the general public via fraudulent prescriptions. The drug companies are not on the government’s side, fraud is generating production and sales for them, once measures are put forth to slow up and end this corruption the drug companies will begin to loose sales. What happens then? Do the drug companies hire lobbyists to sway the laws back into their favor? Look at the state of NY – why doesn’t someone write a national publicized article on how much money they have saved in Prescription Fraud in the past 2 years – it will definitely turn heads not only on the government official level, but on the taxpayers, after all aren’t we the one who are paying for this in the end? That's why they are doing it. They see it as another way to keep people from getting care, and they couldn't care less if people get their prescriptions or not, in fact, this is just one of the extremes they go to to make sure they don't. It is called saving money. all the better for them, when they can make you guys look like the bad guy, again.<br/><br/>Think about it...If there are 50 million people on Medicaid and even a fourth of them cannot get one prescription for several months filled. I already stopped taking new Medicaid patients in my practice. I guess I won't be seeing the few I have left after October 1, because I'm not going to throw money away buying script pads for patients that, due to minimal reimbursement, cost me money to see.
