The UK is considering it:
A 17.5% rise on fatty, sugary or salty food would cut heart and stroke deaths by 1.7%, the study in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health said.

What in the F&%$???????
While I hate that smokers ruin it for the rest of us, I cannot see how this could work? Wha’s next… checking someone’s lipid profile and charging them a HIGHER tax if they eat butter if the LDL is already high? CRAZY!!!
Anyway, what about drinking alcohol? How does that fit in?
I think this idea that will never fly. Wuhat about AIDS. If we tax the behaviours that contribute to the incidence, there would be an outcry!
The simple answer – No it is not time for a fascist fat tax.
