Nurse K calls them “sonogram seekers“. I call it another form of defensive medicine. Do you want to be the one to miss an ectopic?

Medicaid entitles these women to an ultrasound as soon as they are a little late on their period, and whenever the slightest little cramp upsets them.

Hey, it’s only one of many examples of our US healthcare system being screwy. But part of the fun of our jobs is figuring out who has a legit problem/concern and who is abusing the system…and then what are you gonna do about it? Not a damn thing because then you get sued.
