And now Dr. Gupta is in China investigating the trade with endangered animal species… How come a neurosurgeon is an expert on that too?

questioning him over gardisil??? cmon. that is probably going to help a lot of people.
sanjay has done a great job to bring us news on many medical fronts. ive seen him talk and interview many people. He is doing the most that he can do. If you want to ask if he is a good neurosurgeon. i guess you can do that. i assume he knows what hes doing. hes liscensed and as far as we know in good standing. sanjay gupta knows what he needs to do. its too bad there arent others who contribute as much.

Does he have to be?

Sanjay Gupta is a science and medicine feature reporter who happens to be a physician and neurosurgeon. But he works for CNN as a reporter, not as an “expert.” Presumably his medical background gives him insights into stories that might be considered newsworthy; at least his employers think so.

Do you think he should only be permitted to report on neurosurgical news?
